I posted this originally here:

I don't know what happened but after BitTorrent crashed on me as it usually does after a few days, when I restarted it, this torrent keeps giving me the "bad data from tracker - not a valid bencoded string" error.

I completely deleted the partial files/dir, even redownloaded the torrent file (and the one duplicate found here: http://www.thetradersden.org/forums...ead.php?t=33216) but nothing is fixing this error.

All the other torrents I had going from here and elsewhere resumed without problems. Just this one doesn't want to work for me.. Any ideas what's going on? Hope an admin can help me :<

Using BitTorrent v4.4.0 (newer versions are too bloated and won't run stably on my old p2 linux box.

I can't offer you any suggestions other than upgrade clients. try using another linux client like rtorrent (http://libtorrent.rakshasa.no/) and see if that clears up the issue.
