I'm trying to create my first torrent (long time downloader), and after I select the directory to create the torrent, I get the message "Invalid File," and it goes no further. Any ideas?

Actually, it seemed to work the first time, but I couldn't find the .torrent file it supposedly created, (I even did a search to make sure it didn't go into hiding somewhere) so I tried again and that's when I got the error.

I found it. It was in an Azureus system folder, which was hidden, which was why I couldn't find it with a search.

do not save the .torrent file in with the music/video files - keep it outside.
save it to the "desktop" or root of a hard drive

good luck

Uh oh, I already did it and I think I'm seeding, but in the seeding window it shows the size as only 33.4K, which I assume is the size of the .torrent file, plus, the tracker shows no seeds...

What am I doing wrong?

you only "create/make" the .torrent file to attach/upload a new torrent - which you have done. :thumbsup
Your files look fine...so now..

you need to goto your torrent page >
click on the torrent file>
select open>
and "save" to the exact folder/location holding the music files on your computer
it will check your files and at 100% will begin to seed (your torrent is 781.94 MB)

first time is always the hardest..
the REM set looks nice and its from my neck of the woods - thanks

OK, I did that, but the tracker's still only showing 4 leeches and no seeds...

Thanks a lot for you help, BTW. There's more REM on the way. This dude in the UK wanted to trade, but he didn't have anything I wanted, so I made it a torrent for him instead.

OK, now I'm getting "invalid reply d1: failure reason22:, invalid passkey"?!?!

That is the error you get when you use the original, non-personalized file. Stop your torrent, remove the torrent from Azureus, then download the torrent file from the thread and add it to Azurues. Point it to the folder, then it should verify the files and go into seed mode.

(Azurues sometimes spits out that error even if you started with the correct torrent. You just have to do it again until the error goes away. I keep hoping they fix that error, but apparently not yet.)

OK, now one seed and five leeches are showing on TTD, but Azureus is saying I haven't uploaded anything!

BTW, have I said how much I appreciate your help?

There's no reason not to stick the .torrent in with the music/video I do it everytime I upload.
