Is it possible to get the RSS Importer plugin for Azureus working with TTD ?

I tried using

http://www.thetradersden.org/forums/external.php?type=rss2&forumids=12

as the feed location but it doesn't read any details.

If this is a 'member's only' forum, do I need to somehow incorporate a userid/password in the location to allow it to be read ?

Any tips gratefully appreciated, thanks.

Well, I've never used that plugin, and just tried to get it setup myself, unsuccessfully. One thing that comes to mind is that you may only download the .torrent files if you are logged into the site. So, I'm not sure that when Azureus goes to scan the site, if the site sees Azureus as a Guest or as you, since it is from the same computer.

You might try posting in their help forums about this.

Hmm - I've just tried using the RSS Feed Scanner plugin - this seems more promising as it lets you pass cookies, ie, uid & pass [which can be extracted from Firefox].

I've got as far as retrieving a list, having it match a torrent using a filter but it starts to download it then errors, 'Fail - TorrentManager::createFromBEncoded File Fails'.

So near yet so far!

Any ideas people?

I installed the RSS Feed Scanner (version 1.2.1) and set a filter on something from the last 15 most recent torrents submitted in ABT (Yes - the RSS feed looks for the 15 most recent ones) and I got a hit. However, and I got the following error:

RSSFeed: showInfo for Yes 1977-09-26 Long Beach Arena (FLAC) - Forum: Audio Bit Torrent Downloads

[15:58:21] - Fail - Html content returned, but no links to .torrent files found.

If you look at the .torrent files in our pages, they are actually attachment files, not .torrent files. And, I have a feeling even if we were to get passed that problem, the next one would be that you need to be logged in in order to download the .torrent file and I don't see a place in the Azurues plugin for you to fill in any login information (although you may pass cookies, however I'm not sure what you are supposed to put in that text box there).

Using version 1.2p3, I put the following in the 'cookies' field [and tick 'pass cookies'];

uid=XXXX;pass=YYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY

where XX..& YY.. are the values obtained from the cookies set when logging on [extracted from Firefox, can probably also get them from whichever browser you use].

I also ticked 'use url as referrer for torrents'

Still can't get it to work though.

Hmmm, I don't know where you are getting 1.2.3. I'm getting 1.2.1 from here (http://azureus.sourceforge.net/plugin_details.php?plugin=rssfeed). But, anyway, I put in my username/password, but it made no difference in the error (I already had 'use url as referrer for torrents' ticked) because as I said, our .torrent files are attachments and it is looking for something like http://www.thetradersden.org/this.torrent in the html code and instead it is finding http://www.thetradersden.org/attachment.php?attachmentid=xxxx which it could care less about. This is something the coder of the plugin would have to do something about.

It was briefly available then pulled I think, got it from another torrent site.

I agree with your comments about the .torrent file / attachment problem - shame really as I've got it working fine [& RSS Importer] with etree.org.
