I am preparing a DVD torrent. It's not my first ever but my first here.

First of all, the video codec shows: MPEG-1 Layer 2. I know that it is unacceptable for uploading. What I don't understand is that I transfered this myself from VHS via a Liteon Standalone. Why am I getting this lossy crap?

Second, I have had no problem creating MD5 Checksums (via MD5summer) but I don't know how to create/copy the hashes so that I may post them on my torrent's posting page as required. I am able to get a printout w/ "ok"s that I can post.

Any help here :hmm: would be appreciated and I have some rare jazz footage to spread far & wide. :)

Thanks!

MPEG-1 Layer 2 is an audio codec. Most standalone DVD recorders use this format when using the 2 hour (or greater) mode. Does your LiteOn standalone recorder have a 1 hour setting? (sometimes known as: XP mode). This setting will usually use PCM (lossless) audio.

Thanks. Yeah.. that was dumb re: the audio codec. Looks like it's MPEG- 2 video. RE: mode that I recorded it in. There's a chance that I did it in 1 hr mode since it's under 1 hr but then again- it could have been in 2 hr mode. That's SP though, right?

Now what about this little spreed bump in the MD5 hash info that I can't find? :(

Anybody? :hmm: Thanks in advance.
