SWEET so i thought. then i got to my discs that are in the FLAC/shn format. can someone hook me up with a step by step on how to rip my flac files off and directlt encode to mp3, also with the tags how do i get EAC to querry these bootlegs or is it highly unlikly that there is any tag info for boots. thanks for any input

foobar is a media player that allows you to play flac, shn, ape, .wav files on your pc.

http://www.foobar2000.org/

If the file is already in flac - no need to rip it from the cd-r.

yeah....ok ill level with ya. i am just looking for the easiest way to put some of my lossless audio on my ipod with the most minimum steps right now i copy the flac/shn files to my HD, then convert to wav usuing the applicable sftware. then encode those files to MP3 to upload to the ipod. and thats not even counting having to tag all those mp3 files......exhausting.....

If you install foobar you can skip steps 2 and 3. You copy the flac/shn to your HD. Import the flac/shn into foobar and convert to mp3 with a click of the button.

Plus, foobar has tagging as well.
