You can play them on your computer with VLC, from videolan.org

As for what to burn the files with, I'll let a PC user make a recommendation.

Burn with Nero 6 IMO, prefer it to nero 7 ;)

As for vob, i personally use PowerDVD to get the codecs, and use media player classic to play them

VLC player at videolan.org is the BOMB!best screenshot app I've ever used. PowerDVD is like WinDVD, you gotta pay to get the goods. I burn with Nero 6, but I use Ulead 3.5 on this machine and it seems OK for bundleware. IMO the ONES program looks really good and the price ($25) is damn good.

Unless you torrent a warez copy ;)

BTW - I have the VLC player and didn't even know it could play vob's. I'll have to check it out.

What?!?! :hmm:

It's a DVD player (along with playing any video), of course it plays vobs!

....
always use Nero Burning ROM...*not* nero express, etc...

to burn a "watchable" copy [i.e. on yer home dvd player]:
--open Nero Burning ROM
--select "DVD-Video" as yer project type
--drag *all* of the files in the show's Video_TS folder [.ifo, .bup, & .vob files] to the RED Video_TS folder in the project window.
--burn

to burn a "data disc" [which is what you'll want to use for archiving & trading]:
--open Nero Burning ROM
--select "DVD-ROM [ISO/UDF]" as yer project type
--drag the entire show's folder to the project window [including the Video_TS folder, info text, the .md5 checksum, artwork, etc]
--burn

I downloaded it to play some odd (*.mkv?) video I had downloaded. Nothing else I had would play it. :hmm:

What's wrong with Nero? I've had good luck with Nero for burning iso's. I don't use the other features though.

BTW - I like k3b on my Linux box. :thumbsup
