I like to pull photos off of dvd videos so that I can create cover artwork. I am noticing that people are starting to use .png format photos as opposed to .jpg. I understand that this is lossless format and therefore better quality.
Q: How to create .png format photos from dvd files?

Checkout Irfanview (http://www.irfanview.com/), it's free :thumbsup . I use PowerDVD to grab my screenshots, then Irfanview to convert the BMP file to the desired format. PNG is supported.

Thanks. So, how do you capture screens with PowerDVD? That would be very helpful.

There's an icon on the player that looks like a camera. You can capture a frame to the clipboard or to a file. See the configuration button for setting this up.

Oh well, my version does not have this feature...
Thanks again.
