Why i can't post [IMG] codes?

Just this question, why i can't post [IMG] codes in the forums?
I see in the posting rules that my vB code is on, smiles on, but [IMG] is off... could i change something to turn it on?
Is just for the mods?

I'm just trying to put a linked image, a little one...

Usually with image codes the image location address has to have a .jpeg or .gif or some kind of file extension.
