Dont worry not creating any competition, this is a band specific one...

If we were to go the route of TTD, in terms of software used, the forum company etc. Where would one start? Any help provided on this topic would be of great assistance.

Contact U2Lynne, she pretty much built this place from the ground up.

vbulletin.org is the where we got the forum software we use
The tracker we are currently using (with the passkey) is based on TorrentBits. We used to use the one from torrent trader (there was a vbulletin mod available for free, but it isn't update to vbulletin 3.6 yet).

Most importantly, make sure your host allows trackers! I've heard of a few sites that got shutdown as soon as the host realized there was a tracker.

Any tips on hosts that allow trackers?

I actually used the info at the bottom of the index page to figure out the VBulletin stuff, the host is the hard part :lol

Thx for the help :D

Well, our host is tracker friendly - quickpacket.com
Bootcity uses serverbeach.com

The thing I really liked about our host is that we started with the smallest hosting package possible - a shared server with so many GBs of transfer allowed a month (I would look all that up but I don't have old site stats - only site stats since April last year when we went to a dedicated server). Every month we had to increase our hosting package and Jeff was totally fine with it. I'm not sure how it was for Hal and Travis at bootcity. Kat also has a tracker running, so you may ask her who she is hosting her's on.

Oh, and you might ask MetalPrincess who NOT to get hosted by. I think she is on her third or fourth host in the last year or so.

Thats what we're working on  I was an admin over there. Anyway, its not at all dead but the host we had basically put it to death, we're working on other options right now.
