I noticed a lot of latency with the servers here today, and then just started getting "server busy" pages. Was there a problem?

We were down for a few hours this morning, possibly a little DDOS attack? I did notice some pages take longer to load than others before this server exploit, but onward and upwards now, right? Fingers crossed...

I think our server host did some work and reset things again this morning to do some magic for us. Lynne did some pruning of inactive one-time only members from our database to trim some fat, and not to jinx it but things seem to be running a bit smoother to me.... Wish we had a fingers crossed emoji though! haha
I suppose that it's just another reminder that we're pushing old technology and outdated software to it's limits and stretching things pretty far beyond their projected capabilities and lifespan. We do need to keep going on the plans of redesigning the site on new warez to run a better version of what we can do now, but without the hiccups and server delays and crashes and other junk that this old stuff brings.
But, there's also been a ton of activity and requests on the server lately. Not sure if all of it has been legitimate or not - probably not. And of course, a flood of Ozzy / Black Sabbath torrents getting posted that helped to overwhelm things a bit. So, attacks aside, we should be good for now still, but, ultimately, something's gotta change, and probably sooner the better!

Do you really get an email every time I refresh a broken page?

"Database Error" at least 20 times before this thread loaded, 20 more after reply box finally appeared. The forum is borked.

Do you guys need any help? I bet there's some IT folks who are members that may be able to offer some of their time to help with maintenance or design planning to upgrade to a modern stack...

If I could find a member that has some Linux experience and time I have a replacement tracker and updated website that I would like to get a proof of concept running I have struggled with time getting a running version going to test with, we are in serious need of a new tracker to handle the traffic and to allow more modern software to handle attacks on the server.

We do need help. I have posted about it before. We have some new Admins that are doing great. But we need someone to take over the site and take it to the next level… wherever that is.

First of all I'm greatfull that TTD is still alive and that some guys stepped up one year ago to keep things running. And as far as I can tell that over this last year the site worked quite well.
But what still puzzles me a bit is that since that memorable date last September nobody of that new team made *any* postings regarding the condition of the site and its future.
I think our server host did some work and reset things again this morning to do some magic for us. Many of my uploads had been pruned.
All are/were my own recordings and admittedly many of them are of rather unknown artists (openers, locals, etc.) but thanks to Vuze (which can kick in seeding but only when leecher show up) I would and still have the intention and ability to serve them if demand would arise.
After Bradleys statement that no torrents will be pruned because of inactivity http://www.thetradersden.org/forums/showpost.php?p=3199004&postcount=1 I started reseeding all my dropped off uploads to eventually getting an even accessible archive of my recordings.
So I will continue my re-seedings but I will not re-upload the recently pruned torrents (and give up on my idea of an archive) since it appears that they indeed are after all an unwelcome load for the site.
I would appreciate some feedback from the admin team but anyway again thanks for all of your efforts to keep TTD alive.
