utorrent issues

Have a new PC. Having trouble getting utorrent to connect to anything, have Norton protection installed.

Has anyone had this problem recently and any suggestions please?

Actually, the error I'm getting in the tracker is

"Proxy connect error: No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it"

Vuze seems to be working fine

Check if relevant port is forwarded.

Port forwarding issue, and likely norton protection likely has a built in firewall that is also blocking the connection and will need appropriate actions to allow the tracker to connect.

I might be running into similar issues - old always on torrent computer I had died this week with a bad SSD system drive. Crazy...
So, starting a new system from scratch now. Anyone got a lead on uTorrent 2.2.1 build 25273 I think it was that I had (last good one)...?
But, yeah, I'm kind of a stumbler for finding the ports and making things work. I bet I'll be posting here for answers soon...

If I was you, while setting up all new system, I would rid of utorrent and go for qbittorrent instead. Similar functionality, similar interface, frequent updates and no bloatware/adware whatsoever. :p

although I agree Qbitorrent is a better platform, most people in the trading community use older versions o utorrent that works with a few sites that ban the use of the newer versions of utorrent.
