Anyone have this problem before?
I've burned hundreds of dvds with nero, taking about 12-15 minutes each.
Now it takes 2 hours to burn.
I just defragmented the hard drive to no avail.
Any suggestions?

I dunno...the only time I've run into something like this was when my hard drive went/was going bad.

is your buffer level bouncing?
is yer drive's firmware updated?
changed media manufacturers recently?

The buffer level is bouncing.
It won't hit 100, it jumps between 25 and 51%
I'm not sure what my drives firmware even is.
I've tried several different kinds of media.
It even takes over an hour to read a dvd to be copied.
We just bought this laptop in november, so I sure hope the hard drive hasn't gone bad.

I just had my first DVD burner go out on me, and that's exactly what it was doing. The first symptom was that it took 40 minutes to burn a cd. If I tried to extract a disc using that drive it would just skip - and use a lot of my cpu's resources. I defraged to no avail. Then when I tried to burn a DVD with decrypter my buffer would jump all over the place, but never get above 25 or 30% :(
Oh well, I'm replacing it with a dual layer, so I can justify it as an upgrade ;)
I doubt it's the harddrive, if you just bought it in November it should still be under some kind of warranty

I'm sorry that I dont have a clue what that means.
Would I do this through Nero, or the properties of my drive?
I didn't see either of those things.

I got the info from this page-

It sounded a little intimidating at first, but was pretty easy.
I burned a dvd last night in 13 minutes, and am SO HAPPY!
I was getting pretty frustrated.
