Update Tracker when seeding

Has anyone else had to recently use Update Tracker to allow leechers to start when you first seed a torrent? It's happened a few times with me where the site says I have leechers but nothing on utorrent until I update the tracker and then they start.

Not sure if it's just at the start or whether it's only picking up new leechers when my client updates the tracker as it's less noticeable later.

I think thats pretty normal having to do a refresh?

Never had to do it previously.

I've spent the last three days ditching everything off utorrent and putting it on vuze and the connections are working automatically and fine. The ratios I'm getting on uploads are much better too.
