Greetings,
Sorry to hear this site is closing, only just found out today. Hence my 10:1 ratio of downloads to uploads...I grabbed a whole load of stuff on my to-do list before the shop shut down.

I've had a look at Dimeadozen, and have no problems downloading from that site, but when I tried uploading, it looks like the port is firewalled. I tried another port, same difference. All looks OK on Bitdefender, and according to https://canyouseeme.org/ it's not blocked.

It's not obvious to me that Dimeadozen has the equivalent to this forum - does anyone know if they do, and could you point me at it if there is one, please?

P.S. It seems to be OK on uTorrent, but not QBitTorrent, which I much prefer. Can't stand uTorrent!

I am pretty sure they no longer have a help forum. They used to have a yahoo group, but I think yahoo groups are gone. I could be totally wrong though.

Thanks Lynne, that's certainly the impression I get.

Oh well, I can at least download from there (for the time being).
If I can't figure out a way of paying my dues, that's the way it will have to be.

Once again, sad to see this site shut up shop, and thanks again for the 18 years it has been running.

yahoo groups are definitely gone. Some of the groups I was connected to moved to groups.io, but I would have no idea about Dime's.

The dime forums are gone. As indicated above, you have a port forwarding issue.
Sometimes you can't have open ports depending on your own usage situation.

You can make a donation to Dime which will give you to VIP status, which allows you around any ratio issues you may have there. Just look at their top 10 worse downloaders stats....

Yes, Yahoo was closed, but some years before, in 2017, Dime changed the mailing list provider. The present mailing list for discussion and the bot mailing list (with all the ups and downs) can be found on the Forum section.

My experience has also shown me that something about qBT doesn't play nice with Dime's servers, I always appear firewalled and act as firewalled just like you. On the other hand, if I use uTorrent, the issue goes away.



If your issue is with the newer version of uTorrent with bloat and ads and all the other weird shit that it's become mired in over the years, I keep a backup of 1.8.5 that I could share.
