I've downloaded Azure and the torrent I uploaded earlier when I thought it was working again is uploading fine in there.

So for me, definitely a utorrent problem. Don't really want to have to reload nearly 900 torrents into Azure if I can help it - and work out how to create them

Here are the settings in uTorrent 3.5.5 regarding proxies:

- Autherntication
- Use proxy for host name lookups
- Use proxy for peer-to-peer connections
- Disable all local DNS lookups
- Disable features that leak identifying information
- Disable connections unsupported by the proxy

What do you suggest we do with these settings Lynne? I'm unable to connect to seeders or peers. Nothing is displaying in the tracker status information column. I'm a Chrome user. Windows 10. TTD's website sometimes displays as text only now. uTorrent 2.2.1 on my notebook (also using Windows 10 & Chrome) seems to be fine. I'd prefer to keep using 3.5.5 so I'd still appreciate help with this issue.

uTorrent stopped 2.2.1 has now stopped working on my notebook. I'm getting a tracker sending invalid data message in the tracker status info column. This has to somethng that only the admin of TTD can solve for all (or some?) of us uTorrent users.

Before I (or anyone can change Proxy settings we need to know which type is being used:
HTTP
HTTPS
Socks4
Socks5
The default is none. I have no idea which to select? I don't believe this will solve this issue though. I'm able to connect normally to older torrents such as ones I search for from weeks/months & years ago. I'm unable to connect to anyone when I attempt to download from todays uploads. I'm getting a blank in the tracker status column on both older and current torrents. I'm able to connect to current uploads on my phone but I can't seem to upload a single byte. I can only download. Keep in mind that all of us are connecting to other trackers than just TTD and changing settings are problematic (at best) relating to their potential collateral damage to performance on those other trackers. Are the most recent uploads to TTD being processed in some different way that would only disallow us from connecting to peers on those but not archival torrents?

I've only tried three versions of uTorrent. Experimenting with other clients is something I've done before and don't care to revisit if at all avoidable. I've tried them all and with my particular use case nothing compares to uTorrent. Various problems with other clients make them prohibitive if I intend to utilize bt.etree. TTD, DAD, ZOMB & Lossless Legs and maintain acceptable ratios. Some clients just won't work at all. I should say that I really do genuinely appreciate all your (and the remainder of Mods) efforts on our behalf. I just know there's a solution to this issue. It's only the most recent torrents. There must be an explanation. The website mostly displays text only and is usually reporting falsely that I'm firewalled. I haven't changed anything on my end. Hopefully there's something that can be done. Thank you especially for your time and attention regarding this matter. Please let me know if there's anything I can try here on my end.

The bottom line seems to be I can only download a torrent here when any seeding opportunity is gone. So close, yet so far. Please submit this to the techies on staff and see if there's anything they can troubleshoot. Any help from other users on this thread would be more than welcome as well.
On an additional (and maybe related) note, I'm logged out immediately after closing the page. I have to log in every time I visit regardless of how long it's been since I last visited. Remember me was checked.
The website is displaying normally except for the forums and search results. Still being warned I'm firewalled falsely. Could any of this indicate that Chrome (which is up to date) has something to do with this? It could indicate the server is malfunctioning in some way for me.

I use Transmission on the Mac, and my client has also been having trouble connecting and staying connected when seeding yesterday. I was planning to try to seed another show today, but not sure whether I will proceed after the issues I had yesterday. Yesterday's did eventually seed, but not right away and not for very long (apparently, I wasn't watching). I kind of freaked out thinking it was something I did and went through deleting the thread and redoing the whole thing. At least the connection reset bug wasn't around yesterday.

I am looking into this. It probably has to do with the site now using cloudflare.

Some of my torrents are 2 years old, the problem is universal across them.

I run utorrent 2.2.1 and have the same problem. I don't really understand this stuff but here's what I see:

Torrents that previously worked no longer work.
Torrents from other sites still work.
I can download the torrent files from TD and load them no problem.
I can visually see the numbers of seeders and leechers on the TD tracker in the utorrent program.
Seems utorrent is trying to connect to the the tracker but the tracker is rejecting the attempts. The torrents' status says "Tracker sending invalid data: <NULL>"

I checked my antivirus to make sure the program has proper access, and it does.

That's all I have. I do have to say the site looks more stable now since the changes. It always loads now which is cool.

That is... the tracker is the one sending invalid data. Not us, our torrent client or our proxy settings.
This is something that only TTD Admin can address.
It is entirely possible that the cause is within this response from 2008:

However, this problem was encountered elsewhere and the code monkeys did succeed in finding a rogue bit of code that was causing a limited number of users to have this problem because the tracker was mis-counting their activity.

I have been talking to the server guys who got up set up on cloudflare about this. However, they aren't tracker expects at all. And I really don't know anything about cloudflare and how it works when a tracker is involved. I will continue to look into it.

If cloudlflare is the only difference from when hundreds of torrents going back eight years--I am the last seeder on many excellent ones--worked and now do not, then cloudflare need not be tracker experts, just cloudflare experts. They should do their job. What code do they inject into the hypertext protocol? What else? A tracker is like anything else, a directory with call and response based on hypertext protocol.

My client specifically points to an SQL syntax error. If Cloudflare would simply break down what it is they think they are doing for your site--specific code--and you check that against the existing issues, we would progress.

Have other trackers used cloudflare? How did they troubleshoot this? Why not use cloudflare for the site and not the tracker? What advantage does it offer the tracker, which has been near flawless for going on two decades?

Here are some disadvantages of Cloudflare offered elsewhere that may trigger an understanding of where they have introduced a point--or points--of failure into Traders Den:

By using cloudflare, you add a point of failure between web server and visitors.

Cloudflare may not speed up your pageload.

Cloudflare may get your website penalized by google.

Correct, am a musician and do not at all find a performance worthwhile when operating recording equipment to my standards alas. The production is too mesmerizing. Maybe someday, though there are super few acts I care to witness firsthand anymore and they certainly about never come around my remote mountain location. The shows I have recorded are uploaded and seeded elsewhere prior to my arrival here.

That does sound a hassle, but loads of sites aren't and do not use cloudflare, or if they do is entirely transparent. So my point of course was to suggest those jokers take the simple effort to determine what syntax aspect of their whack code is at fault here on the double and for the Den to assess if there's a viable fix or workaround.

The bottom line is the address of a server seed is not being communicated with accuracy to clients and or vice versa. Look up the crap they put Tor through. That's who we're dealing with. If it were my man-in-the-middle code I could--and would--hone in on it pronto.

For a true coder, the hunt is the fun.

I am hoping that we can then get rid of cloudflare and hopefully the site will run smoothly.

Awful weird that some clients be good and others not, and of course--based on reports--that utorrent or even one version of utorrent does not result in a singular consequence.

Hi this is not a shame on anyone post but I didn't know where else to post it. I am having issues when trying to download anything. The status I am getting is:

All I have from it is what I shared, that it has to come from the tracker. My guy spoke only of the Bencoded and not specifically the SQL. I will see if he can provide more info.

The seeds you see is not my rtorrent with all the problems but a utorrent on another system that I have been trying in an attempt to understand this.

I am running Mac os 12.5:1 and recently seem unable to connect using transmission - I also tried using Folx but the result is the same - It opens in transmission and loads the torrent file , but does not connect to peers and stays that way - no error message just nothing. Has worked fine in the past but lately just ...nothing?

I just tried to upload two shows via uTorrent 1.8.7 - and I got red checks on my client & "no seeders" in the forum listing . :(

it worked for me with uTorrent 2.2.0.0. for about two days, with no probs. Have uploaded and seeded three torrents, but all of a sudden (over night) I turnt to RED again.
Nothing goes here.

Here's something STRANGE: for some reason, my Mac (El Capitan 10.11.6 - old, I know, but it's always worked) only allows me to run utorrent 1.8.7; when I tried 2.2.1, it couldn't be loaded to my Applications folder.

So...I started seeding my most recent two shows via Folx 5.25 = seeding is successfully occurring at 15 MB/s...but I still don't see myself as a seeder here - ? And there's been no change in my UL statistics - ?

This all is not a permanent solution, no ?
Some torrent clients work, some work partially, some work temporarily, some do not work at all etc. . .
I can not download and install dozens of torrent clients and hope that one does work for the day.

I hope that a satisfactory solution will be found soon, that all torrent clients will work again

At the moment, it really seems to be working with no probs.
Stiill use u-torrent 2.2.0.0. , and I'm seeding a new torrent at the moment

It's all working perfectly for me, on an old μTorrent. The site seems in good running order, no errors in my client, lots of seeders and leechers. Happy days! And yet it looks like TTD is gonna go to website heaven :(

This also occurs while trying to connect to the tracker over HTTPS using HTTP/2.

This is just an example with an empty announce, but can also be seen in replies to actual announce messages which cause our clients to be unable to parse it and thus start connections. Sadly I don't think anything can be done at client side since blindly replacing all "(" with "e" changes absolutely nothing as "(" is a perfectly valid character in the stream and can appear in a peer ID, for example. In fact, it would even cause an error with the response to an empty announce.

The scrape numbers seem to indicate that some people can connect successfully, but this is not true : the tracker properly registers the connection as a seeder or leecher before sending the faulty reply back. This means that the torrents that you're trying to download/seed will show up in your profile and will be counted towards seed/leech numbers, but your client won't be able to actually connect to anybody else anyway.
