View Full Version : Reseeding Inactive Torrents

Hey all,

I thought I had some of my stuff on my Synology but I guess not so they got unseeded. If I don't have the magnet link is there any easy way to reseed? Seems like the magnet goes away and the thread closes.

The only way to make that torrent active again is to re-upload it.

I'm working on changing this. I want to have a page that users could use to resurrect a dead torrent either with the original torrent file and downloaded files, or a new torrent file created from the files that were download. I've posted about it in the staff forum, but no comments yet.

I suspect I'll have to get my fingers dirty and study the code in depth. I first need to understand the expiration process, and then create code that can reverse that process. I have parts on the way to build a prototype server (a clone of TTD) in my home lab. With that I'll be able to blow it up as many times as necessary until it works properly.

Speaking of old, inactive torrents, do any of you guys have the audio files of this old, inactive torrent in the following link? If so, can any of you guys send them to me via Google Drive, WeTransfer, FileFactory, Mediafire, Dropbox, or whatever online tool works for you at [email protected], please?:

NOTE**Great show! Better of the two nights in my own opinion. Love Red Rocks!
Never mind the wounded animal who is screaming in between songs starting after
Mary Jane's.

**Shout out to jcrab66 for the DAT to wav transfer. If it wasn't for him this
show would still be sitting on DAT collecting dust. Thanks man!

I just came across this post and would be super interested in a feature like this. If I may ask, does having something like this still seem likely?

Unfortunately no. I have discovered that vBulletin is written in such a fashion that obfuscates the code. They actually run lots of code from the database and variables. The PHP programming language lets one do this. Presumably to prevent reverse engineering, but it makes it extremely difficult to mod the code.

Thus any reseeds have to be done the old fashioned way: by recreating the torrent file and creating a new thread.
