It's not that I'm picky about 24-bit or 16-bit, there's people that prefer 24-bit. If I was happen to share 24-bit stuff, I would not share it just because people are picky. I would share it because I want them to enjoy 24-bit stuff, just like how you want other people to enjoy the stuff in your collection. Even those that don't really care for it.
Even though some people say that there's not much of a difference between 24-bit and 16-bit, and they sound the same, I think there is a difference between them, but I do acknowledge that there's not much of a difference, but that doesn't mean that there is no difference at all.
What I'm saying is that it is interesting to study up on. All I want to do is influence my curiosity of 24-bit audio to other people and persuade them that it is interesting to study up on. I mean think about it, there's something interesting we can discover from 24-bit audio.
Imagine 16-bit audio like the stars at night, but stars you can only hear. Also Imagine 24-bit audio like that too, but there's more.

Probably 99% of the stuff I upload here is recorded and mastered in 24 bit. However I never post the 24 bit versions here - too many "can we get a 16 bit version?" requests, and in a lot of cases people just don't bother downloading at all. However the 24 bit versions, if appropriate, do go up on bt.etree and/or the Live Music Archive, and I do provide the links to those versions.

The ultimate irony for all the "can we get a 16 bit" people is that itunes, JetAudio, AudioXP, etc all convert 24b to 16b on the fly when burning discs, which would have to be the only reason someone would ask for a 16b fileset, so...

If you're having problems with trying to hear 24-bit, 32-bit, and other hi-res audio shows, use HDMI or USB-C cables.

Imagine 16-bit audio like the stars at night, but stars you can only hear. Also Imagine 24-bit audio like that too, but there's more.
You can imagine it all you want, but once the work is done, you can't hear the difference.
Recording and mastering in hi res = :thumbsup
But once you've done all that, your ears can't tell between 32/192 and 16/44. Take a hi res file, make a copy in 16bit and put a bunch at random in a playlist on shuffle.

Complete nonsense. Tedious ancient subject. For all the OCD and cult-like worship of pop music fans, they sure don't know much about music--from the playing of it to the recording of it to the playback of those artifacts. Akin to Blu-Ray apropos DVD, if you have the equipment, and the source and mastering is worthy, bit depth routinely makes a supremely delicious advantage.

Wow. I thought it was 100% clear that no human can tell the difference between 16 and 24 bit. Maybe a few 15 year-olds? Maybe in a super quiet recording made in a studio direct to digital?
Anyway, I too record in 24 bit and also use the -12 dB backup file feature on my recorder. This is all just so I don't have to be extremely careful about setting levels while recording. However I share in 16 bit, there is absolutely no way that the noise floor in any venue is 16 bits below the loudest sound one records.
So live recordings, no way 24 bits makes sense. Studio, the science says no, but I will grant a "maybe in rare cases".
I know I sound like I'm trolling here, but I actually hold these beliefs pretty firmly.

Nah. Take a hi res audio track. Make a copy of the same file/mastering/etc. dither and downsample to 16/44. Playback on the same system. You can’t tell the difference

I'm "old school" and still put things on CD. The software I use downsamples everything to 16/44. even if it's in 24/96, once it's on CD, it's in 16/44.
