24-bit flac files to disc?

Hi there everyone!! I downloaded a show but it is in 24-bit flac files. Flac frontend will convert them into wav files but Windows Media Player doesn't recognize them. Says I need to download a codec in order to play them. Nero 6 doesn't see them either. Can these converted to wav files be burned onto an audio CD that can be played in any CD player? or should I just download the 16-bit version and be good with that? I understand that these 24-bit files are of better quality. Any suggestions? Thanks for looking!! and have a great day.

the thing with 24bit files is that many soundcards can't even play them properly, they just truncate it to 16bit in a less than ideal fashon. you also can't burn them to cd unless they are dithered down to 16bit. I would recommend just getting the 16bit versions since the seeder has taken care to convert it as nicely as possible from 24bit to 16bit. 24bit shows are for listening on computers with good soundcards hooked up to a good stereo... not sure what else ppl are doing with them.

you should be able to play them with foobar2000 (link in my signature). get the special installer and choose "full installation" when installing.

CD Audio is 16 bit, you can convert what you have with one of these or most full featured audio editors,
