unapproved group messages

I see an "unapproved group message" in my notifications. I have no idea what this is, but I do know that this is not something that I authored.

How do I get rid of this notification?

it should be up there in the user cp .. I currently have 1 unread visitor message that just won't go away, I read it already.

social groups were a bit of an old experiment that didn't take off.
