Comments disabled at bt.etree?

I just tried to post a comment on a torrent at bt.etree and couldn't do it, and then I saw the message on the homepage that said "Comments have been disabled due to a few bad apples using them to harass others. (you know who you are and should be ashamed) --phrog." Does anyone know what happened? I'd seen some spammers commenting on torrents but that happens everywhere and banning the "bad apples" seems like a more rational solution than banning everyone from commenting, so is there any story behind this?

it seems to be the same spammers /attackers that rekt shnflac and phrog is the bad apple in the basket as far as im concerened.

this is why bt.etree is almost dead and gone. people like phrog aka dave corey

I've been a member of etree since it was an email list so I'm pretty sure "agendas" aren't an issue.

well, we're not pirate bay. we're just collectors who got some bad trades in the old days, skipping CDRs, stuff like that and had enough of it. long-term its the best way.
