I believe that each torrent uploaded should be required to have a sample. I say this because I think that those who choose to download should have some clue as to the quality they are getting. In most cases the denotation of SBD, FM, or Pre-FM gives one a good indication of what they might expect. With AUD tapes this varies greatly.
I do appreciate the effort that folks put forth to upload a torrent. When the quality is such that many would believe it only of historical value those who wnt quality and not history are left in the dark.
I value my ratio and dislike seeing it decrease due to shows of poor sound quality that also look interesting/desirable. Of course I could just avoid all AUD recordings but there are many that are quite good .
Your thoughts ?

I agree that samples are desirable and should maybe be strongly encouraged, but I don't know if I'd go so far as requiring them.

You always have the option of downloading just one song from a torrent, using that as a sample.
It would be a truer indication than a lossy sample.
If samples would be a requirement of an audio torrent, than should screenshots be mandatory for video torrents?

^ This. While I do appreciate mp3 samples and screenshots, with the bandwidth most have now it's pretty simple and quick to grab 1 song to preview if no sample was provided. Of course grabbing a screenshot would not be simple and quick.

Honestly, I'd lean more to requiring screenshots or Youtube samples for video than I would samples for audio. I still feel requiring them might be too far.

Share ratio doesn't mean anything here so why do you care?

Because it is the proper thing to give as much or more than one gets irregardless of any consequences

With AUD tapes, some folks are forced to change locations for a better tape so just sampling one song out of say 20 from the entire set list can be deceiving as to the quality of the whole set. In the past people have reseeded shows they never listened to just for that precious ratio, with comments of "Hotter than Arizona Summers" or some such nonsense to get you download it.
