anybody else having troubles connecting to DIME this morning ?

Try it for two hours or so, now, but in vain
Alwaysgives me a "time-out error message"

By the way, the DIME-torrents on they I am on, seems all working, though

I can't download from dime. I admit I've got a long running issue with them. They demoted me to user only because I dared to argue with mods about 10 years ago - so rather than interact with them, does anyone why downloads might not work?
I run malwarebytes, I've ensured an exception is in place for Qbittorrent, and a download from here has worked this morning, but torrents from dime are still not working.
I do have only 24% ratio on there, but I can't increase that if I can't upload there (as I'm user only) and can't jump on a new torrent and get involved in sharing that, because downloading from there isn't working.
I'll run the gamut of dealing with them by email if no-one here has recent experience of this and can think of any solutions.
So, thanks in advance if anyone here has any tips. :)

I think you've gotta seed back your older torrents there until your ratio improves. I'd pick out some older things and play "keep alive" with them and keep seeding until someone comes along and searches old torrents and grabs it from you. When your favorite pet torrents are found and grabbed, you'll probably be the one seeding and get your ratio improved enough to get raised back to a good downloader status again... Maybe.

But what do I know - there is a certain amount of bullshittery with some mod decisions there and we all know it! haha! I don't know their reasoning on lots of stuff. Share ratios matter - at least there. Here it only is there for a name and shame thing but we don't enforce any of it. But your ratio kinda sucks just as bad here! haha! ;)

Bottom line is, seed. Lots. 100% not 25% or less like you've been doing. Stick with seeding. Leave the computer on 24/7 - mine heats my apartment! Winter is coming. Maybe you can fix your mistake and get the ratios back to respectable levels... Good luck!

Free leech days should be coming next week if you can hold out, they seem to always do it the week of Christmas through the first week of January.

They're enforcing the minimum ratio criteria of 0.25 to allow you to leech so unless you can get it higher you won't be able to.

I always get feelings of dread when stuff like that happens, yeah. And it did, to me, too, last evening. A bunch of red torrents and that warning message.

Good thing it all got fixed and back in a few hours. It took a lot to not panic and find something else to do for a while... haha!

I'm curious what was wrong. I'm thinking some kind of monthly (yearly?) maintenance issue of some kind, but it would be cool to know, if some Dime person can chime in... Cheers!

As it is in the thread that I linked to in my previous post, "The future of TTD Donations", we don't currently have an automated donate option, and we need to work on finding some options for that again. The last I think I remember, U2Lynne was taking donation cheques via snail mail as an only available option. Mailing cash isn't really that much of a joke, but a real option. That was a while ago though, so now I am totally not sure what to do. Perhaps a PM to her is an option right now? I know that she has limited availability for regular check-in here, but is still involved in our continued existence!

We do need a more permanent and easier solution for our continued server costs, and our eventual upgrades to the site which will be pretty significant. If someone out there knows a way, please let us know! So many ridiculous terms and conditions in digital currency transfers... Hard to catch a break!
If you happen to be a billionaire who wants to be our benefactor, get in touch! haha! For now, us regular folks who might want to donate should keep that cash aside. Perhaps soon we can figure out another way to easily keep us financially afloat for a while again... Fingers crossed!

It was simple and easy to use as a standalone service. Now, your bank has to offer it.

I mean in theory, couldn't we just CashApp, Venmo, Chime or PayPal something directly to somebody? Not directly for a website, obviously. Or, at that point are we crossing a bit of a line?
