Hi My mac is almost full of torrent downloads which are on my desktop site and i have added a new external hard drive.. i want to move these torrents to the new external hard drive and allow them to seamlessly retorrent back to my torrent sites.. how can i set this up? Thanks not a real adept techie..adequate

you should be able to change the directory in your torrent client to a new path. in uTorrent you can move completed downloads to a new path of your choice, so if the files are there it should work

Yeah, I don't understand why folks just let their torrent download to some default location! I assign every downloaded torrent I get to save to a specific location of my own choosing, so this is never a problem for me...
But yes, you should either be able to have the torrent program recognize your files in a new path in a new location. In my uTorrent, left click on the torrent and under "Advanced" you can "set download location". It's been a while since I did it, but I think uTorrent will automatically move the files to the new location. If not, stop uploading for a minute, move the files manually, and then use the "set download location" to point to the new place. Force a re-check, and it should show 100% complete. If not, it's pointing to the wrong new location.... Good luck!
