Trying to open ports.need help

So i have spent the last 4 hours trying to open my ports. I read all instructions on port forward, followed the instructions to the letter, and am still leaching.

Set up a static IP.The routing software says the correct ports are open on my router, and that I am connected to my static IP. I am not firewalled according to BT.etree.

Where do I go from here? Advice :hmm: could my modem possibly be at issue? Have I changed IP address on the wrong connection? One thing I wondered about was when I attemped ipconfig/all, I got to seperate IP numbers, and a third different external ip address listed on the portforward page.

What router model do you use?

If you only have a single computer, you don't have a router.

Check your modem firewall. I banged my head on this for almost two weeks. I checked out the Windows XP firewall, but not the modem firewall.
I have a more detailed reply a few topics up.
It starts out something like "this question has been answered a thousand times"...
