I am in the process of downloading the large Bob Dylan - Genuine Live file. While my torrent is still open and downloading, I am trying to go listen to some of the tracks already showing up in the folder.

My winamp, with the shn plugin, will show the song but will not play (shows 0:00 for the length of song).

Tried to convert, using the SoftSound "shorten" program and it will not convert a song to .wav either.

Question....do I have to wait until the torrent is completed to do either of the above?

thanks for the help.

If you don't mind expanding a little? I'm sort of new and would like to know if you recommend waiting b/c it might foul something up. Or, if you recommend waiting b/c it can't be done.

Either way, I'll wait. Just trying to learn. thanks again

say you have an audio show yer downloading that has 5 tracks...BT doesn't download all of track 1, then move to track 2, etc...it downloads random small pieces...so the likelyhood of a file particular file being is pretty low...

by trying to play the files, you *could* somehow mees something up and create an issue for all on the torrent [doubtful, but a possibility]...

needless to say, atleast wait til yer done d/ling before listening/watching...if you must then, close the BT down, check it out, the RECONNECT so that you can seed atleast as much as you d/led...cheers!

also check the links in my signature for info on players (winamp and foobar2000) that you may find useful.

foobar2000 is indispensable; however I still use a heavily customized version of winamp 2.81 for audio/video most of the time. its sort of a fetish, like those guys still running C64s :D
