So I've never uploaded a show using Azureus. I found the option for Superseed. Now I have a couple questions since I can't get the Wiki page to load atm:

Is there a way to be able to see that the torrent is in fact in Superseed mode?

Is if this is going to apply to all torrents? Do I have to switch it back when I'm done with the upload?

Can I seed one thing in non-Superseed and one in Superseed? (I know ideally you want to only seed the show you're uploading to give it bandwidth, but I can't seem to not be the only seed on a show or two. The person that finally finishes just leaves instead of stidking around for the rest of them  and I have a show that was sent to me to upload and I promised and it's taking too long for me to have a completey clean torrent plate.)

TIA.

Okay I've looked here:
http://azureus.sourceforge.net/doc/Azureus%20User%20Guide.htm#_Toc21863116

but still have the same questions. :(

It's smart enough to know when not to use it.

First off, you need to have the SS option turned on before you start to seed. If you don't, then it won't go into SS mode.

Second, as Rider said Azureus is smart enough to know when *not* to use it. So, if you have it set and are seeding a show and suddenly you aren't the only seed, it's going to take you out of SS mode automatically.

And, you can see if you are in SS mode in the My Torrent tab if you have the Status column there. Instead of saying Seeding, it will say Super-Seeding.

Smarter than many users then, eh? ;)

Thanks.

And thanks for the additional info Lynne.

I've often had times when I've used "forced start" on a torrent and am the lone seeder and Azureus starts "normal" seeding, and conversely when I'm in a swarm consisting of 3 or 4 seeders and say, 20 leechers and it starts in "super seed" mode. Not sure if this is a result of using "force start" or Azureus not being that smart.

Okay, I am seeding my first show right now, and I started out in super seed mode like the guidelines said to. Now that there are a couple more seeds on my torrent, should I take myself out of super seed mode? I use Shadow, and it apparently doesn't take itself out of super seed mode once other seeds show up.

If you have a couple of seeds that are sticking around, I would take yourself out of SS mode. I think that is a call based on how many leechers you have about to complete and thus start seeding themselves.

My seeders are MONEY so far, but there's only a couple of them. I'll stick around til morning in SS mode just to make sure I guess, see who else has finished up and stuck around. Thanks Lynne, looks like I'm gonna be torrenting a couple more shows here coming up.
