listen folks, Ive asked this question a few times, and have searched to no avail.....no one here can seem to answer why I am getting the above error. I have uploaded many many shows here, and until recently have not incurred any problems with the above error. I have created my torrent file as usual, uploaded it as usual, and then when I go to seed, it spits out the error. Eventually, people become leeches, and thats when I appear to be uploading it, but never ever do I become the seed.....once they are complete (the leeches) they become seeds....my invalid passkey never goes away, nor do I ever become the seed.....I am on OS X and have used Transmission as my torrent client.

Who can help me figure this out, I have many other shows Id like to upload here, but am tired of wasting my time as well as those ppl who are trying to download.

One thing I had noticed this morning when preparing a torrent file, is this a PRIVATE TRACKER, or not, and do I need to, or not check that box?? I hadn't noticed this till today, and don't remember changing or not changing this setting....

Can an Administrator with knowledge with Transmission help here.....

When you're seeding, are you using the exact same torrent file you created? Or are you downloading the torrent file from the thread and using that one to seed. TTD is a private tracker, so you need the downloaded file since it has your passkey info.

I had tried that, and it never starts. It makes me be a leech, and doesn't start because there are no seeds??

I'm going to upload a show I'm attending tonight in the morning and will try that with a fresh torrent. On Transmission, when I am creating the torrent file I have the option of checking Private Tracker selection. Yes or No on that, I don't ever remember having to or not.

Unlikely this will help, as I'm on a PC and use utorrent, but I had trouble with .torrent files I created with utorrent, and switched to making my .torrent files with traderslittlehelper, checking the "Private Torrent" box, and then use the "PID" .torrent file TTD creates when you post a show.

Shot in the dark, could it be an easy caused by an update of transmission? You could try an earlier build that predates your problems.

Hope you get a good answer and solve this problem.

There is a transmission help forum you could try:
https://forum.transmissionbt.com/

I sifted through some of that, best answer I'm seeing is that transmission may not be "seeing" the PID .torrent file until you close and reopen transmission, all greek to me, good luck.

to the first part of this, when you download the file from here make sure its being pointed towards the correct folder for your torrent. otherwise you'll just show as a leech.

to the second part, you do not need to check private tracker. i've never done it.

hope this helps.

took a bunch of trial and error, but finally figured it out........what I had to do was DELETE the torrent file I created initially, and uploaded, then as some of you said, and as I always done in the past, was to download the one from the thread......it would only work after I delete the original one and REPLACE it with the new one.....

definitely different in some aspects, but finally got it going....

Glad to see you up and running successfully. I did see some folks blaming a change/update with a Mac browser as the culprit for like issues.
