I am able to download but cannot upload. I'm using utorrent and I have a Netgear router #B90-755025-15. I've established a static ip address and I have gone into my router settings and successfully added and enabled the port forwarding for the port listed in utorrent. TDD says I am not firewalled. On canyouseeme.org, I get the success message. If I go into the utorrent set-up guide and run the test for the network, it tells me that my port is not open but I am still able to download. I shut down the laptop, unplugged the router and restarted everything. I've done a lot of research and now I'm out of ideas. Any help would be much appreciated.

If your torrent client is saying you are firewalled, but everything else is saying you are fine, then there is a problem with your torrent client settings. Did you make sure to not tell it to select a random port every time you open it?

In the Connection menu, the box that says "Randomize port each start" is not checked.

Hmmm, I don't use uTorrent, so I am not sure how much help I can be.

Are you trying to upload to torrents that actually have leechers on them? Do they show up in your Profile > Torrent Stats tab at all?

What version of Utorrent? I'd suggest sticking with 2.2.1 build 25302. Anything later stinks.

Your anti-virus could be an issue too, also did you create an exception for utorrent in windows firewall?

I can upload now, not sure why. Thanks for the help and other information.
Marksg - you are the second person who recommended uT 2.2.1. I will probably look into that if I continue to have problems.

TTD says Firewalled but iīm uploading, my firewall shows an exception for uTorrent (random port enable)? I see Seeders: 1, Leechers: 3

TTD shows me as firewalled periodically throughout the day-maybe about 50% of the time. At this point I just ignore it

Hi
Your better off unticking random ports and get it working with 1 port number.
UPnP - Universal Plug and Pray is not the best way from a security perspective.

If your not using a VPN service you can open that port number in your router.

all the best
