View Full Version : Yet another "firewalled" thread.

Hi, ya'll.

Since we received a new router (Arris TG1672G) earlier this year (provided by TimeWarner), there appeared "FIREWALLED" under my username. I am currently using PF Config and have contacted Portforward and they have attempted to remotely administer the router with little to no effects (I am still firewalled after all that). And I am beginning to feel discouraged of it ever being resolved.

Has anybody had any similar experiences with this router?

The Arris is hooked up to my Lenovo all-in-one PC with Windows 8.1 OS.

Any tips or suggestions will be appreciated.

Many thanks.

Ignore it and reboot, works every-time for me . . .

Have you checked to make sure that your firewall and torrent software are using the same port number? To check, type http://192.168.1.1 into your browser's address bar (sometimes the last two numbers are different depending on your router, and a Google search indicates that it might be 192.168.0.1 for yours) and click on the Settings tab, then the Firewall tab and make sure that your torrent software is allowed through the firewall and see what port it's using. Then check the settings in your torrent software to make sure that its using the same numbered port.

I hate to revive this old thread but I am still showing up as firewalled. I've tried all I could to no avail. I've installed the latest version of Port Forward Config., I've set up a static IP address and subsequently forwarded a port for Utorrent, then I restarted my router and....nothing. There are forums with people venting their frustrations with this router (Arris TG1672 G) and its inability to properly forward ports. I had a great ratio (not in red hue) which I was proud of prior to receiving this POS all-in-one modem. Now I have to invest in a stand-alone router.....

Hello all, I thought I'd provide some details of my current setup. OS: Windows 10. I am using uTorrent 3.4.5 and I'm currently seeding a torrent. There appears to be a green check mark at the bottom of the screen but I am still showing as firewalled. I used Port Checker and it says that my port is unreachable. I used PF Conifg. and then logged in to my router to see if the port was forwarded, which it was. I am not at all technically savvy so if anyone can provide some suggestions I'd truly appreciate it. I'm at my wits end.......

Does the internet IP address shown on your router match your internet IP address if you check it on a site like whatsmyip?

The IP address shown on whatsmyip.com is the same as my Public IP address but not the same as the router's internal IP address nor my computer's IP address.

I ask because the provider I have uses CGNAT to generate an IP address. In order for me to properly forward a port, I have to call them and have them port the router they gave me (I'm on a fiber optic network, so no cable modem).

I see that warning once n a while, when I'm not seeding a "live" torrent here. Seems the tracker reads my inactivity here as firewalled. There's so many holes in my firewall, it's a screen...

I want to beat my head against a wall, all of the sudden for no reason I am now shown as firewalled, but have changed nothing.

I allow my client through the firewall, nothing, turn off the firewall, still nothing, (it goes away when I turn off the client all together)
