So I downloaded my first two bootlegs today and I really like both. I was just wondering, to keep the high quality of the .flac's when burning should I convert them to .wav with the program from http://flac.sourceforge.net/ ? I'd imagine most cd/dvd players can't play the flac format. Thanks in advance

most cd/dvd players can't burn flac ... you're correct. If you're on a pc and have Nero, you can burn the flac files to cd without decompressing them first. Then new Toast for mac has the same option. flac is good. :D

you might want to look into using Traders Little Helper for all yer lossless tasks...all-in-one program for trading [just about]...and like saltman said, the newer Nero will trandscode from flac to wav for you.

Thanks for the help guys but, I'm still wondering if I can decode to wav with the FLAC frontend then just burn the wavs.

Yes. But why go the extra step and decode then burn?

Aside from using Nero like others have mentioned, you can also use foobar2000.

I'd use Nero but it's really messed up on my compter. Half of one version there half of another one somewheres else and such. So i usually just use WMP to burn but, I might have to try foobar :)

Burrrn (http://www.burrrn.net/?page_id=4) is a great free CD-burning program that supports FLAC (among other formats) out of the box.
