All of a sudden, I'm getting a bunch of ads & pop-ups when I come to TTD, as well as other sites. I use Firefox.

What to do? What to do?:hmm:

If it's any help, the ones here say, "Ads by Video Player." I recently installed avast! could this be the problem?

Chrome with ABP "ad blocker plus" is a fantastic combo. Add "ghostery" for even leaner experience as it strips all the 3rd party BS off every site you visit.

I would install chrome, let it import your bookmarks then uninstall Firefox. It's had its day. You can do nearly anything with chrome and right plugins. Very customizable, lean and fast.

Also, avast is problematic. Google it.

Go to uninstall the "video player" and avast.

Uninstalling avast seems to have worked.....I'll start looking for the other stuff...avast works fine on my laptop...must be an older version....

Antivir is a good free antivirus, it used to have an annoying pop-up ad for their paid for version, but that has gone now.

For anti virus software take your pick, http://freebies.about.com/od/computerfreebies/tp/best-free-antivirus.htm.

I would also install AdBlock (and dump firefox).

MSE (Microsoft Security Essentials) does a good job of antivirus while staying the hell out of the way.
Free, of course
