You need to give a price point. We could sit here all day and quote things like Red One HD cameras...The camera body kit (http://compare.ebay.com/like/130894301193?var=lv&ltyp=AllFixedPriceItemTypes&var=sbar&_lwgsi=y&cbt=y&bigimg=y) is about $10K and the three lens Carl Zeiss set (http://www.ebay.com/itm/251218820004?hlp=false) is about $66K...but I am sure that is not what you are looking for.

Narrow it down and we can make a few good suggestions.

i'm not personally familiar with any of the cams in that price range, but i know a lot of tapers have been using Canon's HV line [HV30 or HV40], which you should be able to find around that price...and what i've seen shot with one of those lil GoPro's looks great given its size/price, might be an option

I use a Sony, HDR CX-190. It ranges in price between $279 and $350 depending who has it. If you aren't in a hurry, Best Buy will have a sale for them and you can get one for around $200. My original camera was and HDR CX160 which got lost in the fire, and they do not make that particular camera anymore. The differences that I have noted between the 190 and the 160 is that the 160 had 16 gb internal memory and a greater zoom than the 190. The 190 has no internal memory. The one modification no matter what camera you get, is to purchase a larger battery than the one that comes with. If you are shooting video with the audio the battery life is cut in half.

I use a Canon HV30, and have used the HV40 as well. Both are tape based, so you'd have to transfer in real time. Both have a lot of manual control, or you can use the Cinema mode which looks really nice, too. Panasonic also has some amazing cameras. As AAR.oner said, camcorderinfo.com is an awesome resource to research cameras.

Not available yet, but it looks like Magic Lantern have completely unlocked the EOS 5D Mark iii

I have no other words to describe it – this is huge news.

Magic Lantern have done the seemingly impossible and given us a continuous raw recording mode on the Canon 5D Mark III. Once activated in the menus the 5D Mark III becomes essentially a full frame Blackmagic Cinema Camera and amazingly mine has not yet exploded. No more short bursts of raw, this is the real thing.

The image is leaps and bounds ahead of any other DSLR. We’re talking Alexa / Red league here, yet full frame. The first ever raw video shooting full frame camera at that. I’m getting continuous recording at a data rate to the card of 90MB/s and the camera hardly breaks into a sweat.

Reading the article, it all looks very promising, though i will NOT be an early adopter!

It appears to be limited by the size of cards - 64GB = approx 24 mins.
